QA Manager

Position: QA Manager
Commitment: Full-Time Permanent
Location: Sydney

Job Description:

Manage internal and external stakeholders such as internal functional departments,  suppliers, customs agents, freight forwarders, Australian Quarantine Inspection Services (AQIS) & related government departments, auditors to ensure product and business compliance. Maintain and improve and update all food safety certification, standards and best practice which includes and not limited to HACCP, QAP, GMP programs and relevant company policies and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Imports and Inspections

  • Ensure compliance with Australian Quarantine regulations for all newly sourced products.

  • Collaborate with suppliers, customs agents, and freight forwarders to streamline the import process.

  • Coordinate with Australian Quarantine Inspection Services (AQIS) and other regulatory authorities to ensure inspection and certification requirements are met.

  • Assist suppliers with compliance on labelling standards, restricted ingredients, and other import regulations.

Food Safety Programs

  • Manage the company’s food safety programs, including HACCP, QAP, and GMP, ensuring annual certifications are maintained.

  • Stay updated with food safety regulations, providing guidance and training to managers and employees.

  • Conduct quality control monitoring for inventory to ensure adherence to food safety standards.

  • Maintain and improve food safety certifications, standards, and best practices to align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Customer Complaints and Quality Management

  • Oversee the Company Complaint Program, ensuring all complaints are documented, investigated, and corrective actions are implemented.

  • Maintain a log of quality reports and other quality documentation.

  • Investigate root causes of defects, propose solutions, and monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Supervise inspectors, technicians, and other staff, providing guidance and feedback to maintain quality standards.

Production Quality

  • Serve as the point of contact for the Kirbat manufacturing business, ensuring compliance with safety standards and business objectives.

  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to address queries and provide operational support.

  • Review and optimize production processes in the D365 system as a Business Process Owner (BPO).

  • Devise and review specifications for products or processes to uphold quality and sustainability.

General and Administrative Duties

  • Provide administrative support, including filing, updating customs records, and preparing correspondence.

  • Input and retrieve information from computer databases with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Perform any ad hoc duties as directed by the company.
